Congress Approves New Web Fraud Bill

Congress has approved and sent to the President a bill that gives the FTC greater powers to enforce spam and spyware regulations against international wrongdoers. The bill, entitled, “Undertaking Spam, Spyware, And Fraud Enforcement With Enforcers beyond Borders Act,” allows companies to provide private information to the FTC, and in turn allows the FTC to share information with international governmental agencies that view various types of spam, spyware and other fraud as criminal matters.
